Fueling the Cure - 11 Years of Giving Back

Oct 05, 2020

Fueling the Cure is currently supported by four agriculture and energy cooperatives: Sunrise Cooperative, Centerra Co-op, Heritage Cooperative and Premiere Energy. Each cooperative is committed to donating a $1 per propane delivery stop to cancer research. 100% of the funds raised go into the “Cooperatives for the Cure of Cancer,” an endowment fund established in 2011 by the cooperatives at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.

In 2020, the cooperatives added $190,464 to the “Cooperatives for the Cure of Cancer,” endowment fund. Sunrise Cooperative, through the leadership of President/CEO George D. Secor, doubled its donation to $2 per delivery stop and contributed $74,948.

Throughout the past eleven years the cooperatives have merged and changed but the goal to support a cure for cancer has stayed the same. In 2017, Fueling the Cure was proud to announce $1 million dollars had been raised between the cooperatives.

Together these organizations have raised a total of $1,533,763 in eleven years and will continue to do so.
