Columbus, Ohio – March 22, 2024 – Sunrise Cooperative’s Josh Snyder has been named the 2024 Ohio Certified Crop Advisor of the Year, as recognized by the Ohio AgriBusiness Association (OABA). This year marks the 30
th anniversary of dedication to the agriculture industry from more than 560 certified crop advisors in Ohio.
Kevin Otte, Chairman of the CCA Board formally recognized Josh as the 2024 Ohio Certified Crop Advisor of the Year during the Ohio CCA Board Meeting on March 22 in Columbus.
A Precision Agronomy Solutions Advisor (ASA), Josh joined the Sunrise team in the fall of 2013 and is based out of our Crestline Agronomy facility. He began his career in precision ag by doing fertility recommendations, soil sampling, data management and variable rate seeding and nitrogen recommendations. Josh added agronomy sales to his portfolio in early 2020. After combining his precision ag and crop management knowledge, Josh pursued his CCA to provide enhanced knowledge for the customers that he serves.
A Bucyrus, Ohio native, Josh graduated from Colonel Crawford High School and earned a degree in agricultural business from The Ohio State University in 2013.
“There are a lot of deserving individuals for this award,” stated Josh. “I appreciate the time and effort it takes for the nomination process and the committee to select an award recipient. This means the most to me to have one of my customers go through the nomination process on my behalf. Thank you to everyone involved.”

Since 2003, the Ohio Certified Crop Advisor of the Year award was designed to recognize individuals who are highly motivated, deliver exceptional customer service for farmer clients in nutrient management, soil and water management, integrated pest management and crop production and have contributed substantially to the exchange of ideas and the transfer of agronomic knowledge within the agricultural industry in Ohio.
Josh was nominated by the Harer Bros. (brothers) Farms in Bloomville, Ohio. They stated that “Josh goes above and beyond in his scouting, creating budget sheets, yield maps, and prescriptions for our operation. We appreciate that Josh responds quickly and admits if he doesn’t know something – you know he’ll find out! The information he gives us takes the guess work out of the equation. “
This honor will continue to push Josh to enhance his knowledge and expertise for his customers. He strives to bring technology and agronomy together, and to ultimately push yields for all operations he works alongside. “I enjoy working with my customers to figure out how their operation works and to figure out what they need to be successful,” commented Josh. “It is not a one size fits all, and with that, striving to do what is the right thing to do to be good stewards of the land.”
Excitement for this Advisor of the Year recognition for Josh is evident amongst all members of the Sunrise team. “This is a tremendous accomplishment for Josh, and well-deserved, said Jeff Goodbar, Regional Sales Manager at Sunrise. “His career began in the precision side of business and to see his ambition to enhance his skills to earn his CCA is outstanding. He has learned, and demonstrates daily, the skill set it takes to excel as a CCA. This honor truly shows his dedication to his customers and the ag industry.”
