May 29, 2024
H2Ohio Extends Enrollment Deadline to June 30, 2024, or until 500,000 acres are enrolled!
Sunrise Cooperative is here to help you maximize your opportunities with the H2Ohio statewide expansion. To be eligible for the H2Ohio state expansion you must reside within Ohio, be a row-crop grower outside of the Western Lake Erie Basin, and not be currently receiving payment for any similar county, state or federal programs (CSP, EQIP, H2Ohio, etc.)
Our 4R certified facilities, Precision Solutions Team and Certified Crop Advisors are on hand to help develop and implement your Voluntary Nutrient Management Plan.
In a recent video interview with Ohio Country Journal, Bill Beckman, Nutrient Management Specialist with the Ohio Department of Agriculture, discussed the importance of having and implementing a Voluntary Nutrient Management Plan (VNMP).
“The Voluntary Nutrient Management Plan (VNMP) is a requirement for growers to participate in other ag practices through H2Ohio. Four main requirements for a VNMP are nutrient application, soil testing, soil documentation, application and field information, otherwise known as Right Source, Right Rate, Right Time, Right Place.” Beckman explains, “Following these management practices helps growers keep nutrients on the field as effectively as possible for the crop. Voluntary Nutrient Management Plans are essential for H2Ohio because they align directly with helping to reduce the environmental impact of applying nutrients and they help growers be as profitable as possible and yield a good crop, while still applying the needed nutrition for the crop.”
The deadline to enroll in the H2Ohio state expansion has been extended to June 30, 2024 or until the Ohio Department of Agriculture has 500,000 acres enrolled in the program. To learn more about H2Ohio visit: https://h2.ohio.gov/.
