Sunrise + 4-H

Each year Sunrise supports county fairs across our trade territory by contributing towards the county fair livestock sales and supporting trophy donations and informational presentations. In 2025, Sunrise Cooperative supported 4‑H members by donating $195,000 at 39 county fairs across Ohio. We invest in county fairs because they play a vital role in developing the next generation of agricultural leaders. By supporting youth who are learning responsibility, leadership, and the importance of agriculture, Sunrise strengthens the future workforce and the communities we serve.

Our commitment to these fairs reflects our cooperative values: giving back, growing local talent, and ensuring a strong agricultural foundation for years to come.

Ohio 4-H Week

This week is Ohio 4-H week! Join Sunrise Cooperative in celebrating America’s largest youth development organization. This week is for recognizing members, volunteers, professionals and supporters that make Ohio 4-H Youth Development programs happen.

From March 8 - 14 we are encouraging alumni, friends, and members to participate in daily social media posts. Share why (or how) 4-H is important to them. Have some old photos of you showing? Post them and share the memories.

Join 4-H & Learn!

Ohio 4-H membership is based on a child's age and grade as of Jan. 1 of the current year. Cloverbud eligibility begins when a child is five years old and enrolled Kindergarten, and youth are eligible to participate in 4-H as project members if they are eight years old and enrolled in the third grade. There are so many more projects than just livestock that youth can get involved in! From sewing to rockets, the list goes on and on.

Want to join? Reach out to your local Ohio State Extension office today. They will help you find the best club to fit your needs.

Get Involved!

The Ohio 4-H program would not be possible without volunteers. Whether you are a 4-H advisor or sit on a local advisory or junior fair committee, you are creating opportunities for youth all over the state. Ohio 4-H believes in empowering youth, so let’s continue to strengthen the Ohio 4-H program!
